Risk Managed Income Strategy – Due Diligence Webinar
Launched in January 2012, the Risk Managed Income strategy (RMI) provides tactical fixed income exposure to a spectrum of fixed income categories from high-yield to Money Markets, with six other categories in-between, plus cash. These categories are selected based on their relative volatility and ranked according to their contribution to yield. The focus of RMI is to maximize yield in a risk-controlled fashion.
The tactical nature of the portfolio assists in managing interest rate risk with the ability to change the duration profile of the portfolio, while credit risk is addressed through investments in pooled portfolios rather than individual bonds. RMI is an actively managed fund-of-funds strategy, investing in differing ETF categories.

Embedded in U.S. equity market volatility is valuable information that can be used to estimate near-term market price-movement. Recent periods of market disruption provided live tests of this thesis. The Cboe Volatility Index® (VIX) and VIX futures provide a window into estimates of coming volatility on dual time horizons, such estimates often have inverse correlation to market price-movement.
