LHA is headquartered in the America's Cup Building located in Little Harbor, Marblehead, Massachusetts. The America's Cup building was the former home of Hood Sails and Little Harbor Yachts, made famous for two America's Cup wins in Courageous I in 1974 and Courageous II in 1977, skippered by Ted Hood and Ted Turner, respectively. It was in this building that the use of LASER cutting was introduced to sail-making and was also the home to many an innovation in naval architecture. Marblehead is the birthplace of the American Navy and Marine Corp aviation and celebrates its long history of patriotism. A visit to Marblehead in the summer is a treat not to miss, and LHA welcomes its patrons to a lobster roll and a walk through history.
Registered investment advisors often-times either advise individual investors or manage investment products. LHA is different, it seeks first to discover and understand the unique challenges facing institutional investors, financial advisors, and portfolio managers with respect to present-day investment products and ever-changing market conditions. Our quantitative and systematic solutions are tailored to be responsive to these challenges, seeking to create innovative collective investment funds and managed account structures or customized investment programs.
LHA is also focused on building alternative indices and delivering investment strategies that are customized for the alpha and beta requirements of institutional investors, financial advisors, and portfolio managers. Generally, "alpha" refers to the excess return of an investment relative to the return of a benchmark index, and "beta" refers to the volatility of a portfolio in comparison to the market as a whole.
